Description — Painted (stencil and brush by hand) porcelain (8.5 x 6.5 x 6.5 cm), pictorial thick paper box, leaflet.
Condition — VG (light wear to box; cup is as new).
Review — A pretty tea cup (Arita-ware) illustrated with TAKIDAIRA Jiro's kirie design, specially crafted in the famous Iwao Taizan kiln (HP [jp]/info [en]), for the 100th anniversary of The Asahi Shimbun newspaper (1st issue in 1879). Unused cup, as new.
Misc. — In the 1970s TAKIDAIRA had a popular column in Sunday Asahi News for which he made original kirie every week.
