Remarques & avis / Review — Minoru TAKETAZU's first opus dedicated to the Hokkaido Fox (vulpes vulpes schrencki), his rarest and best work also, thanks to a superior crafting and excellent b&w photogravures. A beautiful work on a mascot animal of Japan, in the great natural environment of the Hokkaido island. Part of the pictures of this photobook was used for Fox Family (1979).
Le premier opus de TAKETAZU Minoru sur le renard d'Hokkaïdo (vulpes vulpes schrencki), le plus rare et le meilleur aussi, grâce à une finition supérieure et aux excellentes héliogravures en noir. Un bel ouvrage sur un animal fétiche du Japon, dans le superbe environnement naturel de l'île d'Hokkaïdo. Une partie des photos de ce livre fut reprise dans Fox Family (1979).
Divers / Misc. — There is also a reprint edition, ten years after the first ed. (1984), with a different cover & dj design (cf. last picture below) — regular printing instead of gravure for the b&w photos.
Existe également un retirage, dix ans après l'originale (1984), avec couverture et jaquette différentes (cf. dernière image ci-dessous) — l'héliogravure est remplacée par une impression courante pour les photos n&b.
