Les volumes s'ouvrent sur des photographies de l'intérieur de ces fantastiques demeures — dans l'esprit d'Il Documento di Visconti et de Mishima Yukio no Ie —, se poursuivent en de superbes portraits — le second volume est principalement dédié à Harumi, la fille de Balthus qu'il eut de son épouse japonaise Setsuko —, le clou de l'ouvrage étant une séance de pose avec une enfant dans l'atelier du peintre, magnifiquement rendue.

The volumes open on photographs of the interior of these fantastic dwellings — much in the fashion of Il Documento di Visconti and Mishima Yukio no Ie's —, continues with superb portraits — the second volume is mainly dedicated to Harumi, Balthus and his Japanese spouse Setsuko's daughter —, the highpoint being a sitting session with a child in the painter's atelier, beautifully rendered.
