Remarques & avis / Review — A beautiful, daring and unexpected story of Tokyo, a dark and clear reverie, of naked skin, beggars, small streets, ruins and construction sites, in excellent full-page, contrasted and finely printed monochrome photographs, and a capital turning point in Nobuyoshi ARAKI's work. A personal favorite.
Divers / Misc. — "An important volume suggesting a new direction in ARAKI's work. 120 photos laid out in order of the seasons. An excellent reference for the Tokyo of the 1980s." (IIZAWA Kohtaro, ARAKI's Illustrated Bibliography, in déjà-vu #4 : ARAKI Nobuyoshi (1991), p.87)
