Review — ISHIMOTO Yasuhiro (born in 1921) is a renowned American-Japanese photographer, great traveller and among other works famous for his pictures of Katsura Imperial Villa, Toji / Kyo-gotokuji, Ise Shrine, and his participation in the exhibition Family of Man. He leads us here around the Kunisaki peninsula (Oita prefecture, Kyushu island), a volcanic region striped by deep ravines and home to an old and unique Buddhist culture. Spectacular photographs in large size, finely printed. Beautiful photo-book.
